Japan Earthquake Relief Fund
Felissimo is accepting donations as part of our Japan Earthquake relief campaign.
We had made a significant fundraising effort after the Kobe Earthquake in 1995 (*), and donations from our customers helped greatly towards our city’s recovery.
This time our customers are encouraging us to mount a similar effort. Armed with our experience, and incorporating suggestions from many of our customers, we are working on ways with which we can best help.
As part of this effort, we have now established a relief fund at Felissimo.
The fund will be used for emergency relief, in cooperation with relief organizations. We will be announcing the name(s) of the NPO(s) of our choice on our website. We look forward to your joining us.
Moving forward, we also believe that long term support will be crucial. We have some plans in that direction under consideration, which we will be sharing with you soon.

After the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, Japan, FELISSIMO asked our customers throughout Japan to help in the recovery efforts. We began a program of assistance: the “100 Yen Monthly Donation.” Designed not only for the short-term recovery of Kobe, the program also supported the long-term renewal of this port city.
Contributions of 100-yen (approximately $1.00) poured in from all over Japan. Though little in value, 100 yen, when contributed by millions of people, grows strong in its power. Approximately 400 million yen ($34 million) in contributions have been received since the program began. Respecting the donors’ wishes, FELISSIMO directed the funds to children’s aid, the establishment of public spaces and the support of volunteer activities.
